Hatsuyuki Manual Block Ice Slicer HA-110S

The Hatsuyuki HA-110S is the hand-crank block ice slicer that Japanese kakigori stands have relied on for decades. Chubu Corporation still builds it to the same nostalgic design: a rotating disc that carries a block of ice across a steel blade, turned by hand, with no motor and no plug.

Because it shaves from a solid block instead of crushed cubes, the HA-110S produces the thin, airy ribbons of ice that define authentic Japanese kakigori. Syrup soaks in evenly instead of pooling at the bottom of the bowl.

What ice to use

The HA-110S is designed for commercial block ice (the Japanese "han-kanme" size, a block of roughly 13 cm per side). The block can be up to 140 mm high. It does not shave ice cubes or frozen fruit.
