The Doushi is a straightforward electric kakigori machine built for home use. It shaves ice finely enough to produce the light, snow-like texture that defines good kakigori, and it accepts both the dedicated M-size ice cups and regular ice cubes — useful when you want to make kakigori without waiting for cups to freeze.
At 1.2 kg it is light enough to move around easily, and the blade height adjustment gives you control over texture. A cleaning brush is not included but the parts are straightforward to rinse. The blade should be dried before storing to preserve its edge.

- Which home machine should I buy?
I've tried a few different kakigori machines, but this one is by far the best. It's compact, yet powerful. The ice comes out fluffy and smooth, just like the ones you get from a professional stand. The cleaning process is also straightforward. Worth every penny
durable,but hard to turn
It's amazing to have a kakigori machine here in the UK! It works well, using a spring mechanism to push the ice down while you turn the handle. It's so easy to make and very refreshing, especially on hot days. The crushed ice, which looks like a bowl of snow, can be flavoured with anything, but we were lucky enough to be sent anko and matcha sauceRead more about review stating It's amazing to have a from Japan! Would highly recommend the kakigori machine; big thanks to Akazuki for making it possible to send unique Japanese goods to my country!
For the same price, you can have the electric one... What's the point?
Good but made in plastic, I would love to have a cast iron one for this price.
