The Toroyuki manual is the most compact machine in the range when stored. The foldable design reduces its height from 35.5cm to 23cm — easy to pack into a bag for camping, barbecues, or beach trips where no power is available. Despite the compact form, it operates with a stable base and an adjustable blade, giving you texture control that entry-level manual machines do not offer.
Like all manual machines in the range, texture is coarser than electric models. The adjustable blade helps: set it fine for the lightest output, and slow your turning rhythm to let the blade work rather than rushing through the ice. For best results, temper the ice cup before shaving — let it sit at room temperature for 3 to 5 minutes so the surface softens slightly.
Best for
- Camping and outdoor: no power, folds small, packs into most bags
- Occasional home use: store it away easily between sessions
- Travel: 1.1kg and compact — the lightest full-featured manual machine in the range
- Browse kakigori syrups — 45+ flavors, ships from Japan
- Condensed milk — the essential topping
- Easy guide to making kakigori at home
- How to freeze and temper the ice — key for manual machines
- Which home machine should I buy?

We have only used the machine once and had to order extra plastic ice pucks (2 pack of small size). Because I don’t read or speak Japanese very well, it was helpful that English directions were included. Two things that I wish were in English is how to clean the machine after use and the adjustment of the blade to make the ice finer or coarse. We will try it again to see if we can make the ice more fine- the default seems to be a more snow cone-like texture. I am also concerned that the parts are all plastic except for a few components, so I am hoping it does not break easily. It is very lightweight. Last note, we had a hard time figuring out how to get the ice pucks out of the mold - not sure if there are English directions for that. We just ran room temp water over it and then used a butter knife to pop it out but I am wondering if there is a better way to do that. As we are in the middle of a heat wave right now, having an icy treat was awesome for my kids!
I didn't expect much from this machine but kids really enjoyed using it. You can store it easily and shipping was fast. Good experience.
Kids are using it in summer. It doesn't take space and it's quite funny to use.
I use this one for outside. Perfect for a quick kakigori or for our cocktails.
Better to have a lot of ice plastic bowls if you want to make a large amount.
Compact and easy to use and store
