The SI-8B is designed to shave standard block ice. This aluminium attachment converts the machine to accept regular ice cubes, eliminating the need for a block ice maker or dedicated ice cups. Install the attachment in place of the standard ice block holder, fill it with regular ice cubes, and shave as normal.

The texture produced with ice cubes is slightly coarser than with a full ice block, as the blade encounters individual cube surfaces rather than a continuous mass. For the finest snow-like texture, use the standard block ice setup. For convenience and speed, the cube attachment is the practical choice.
